Bryan Singh

Bryan's Motivation

"My Dad Keith Singh died of Prostate Cancer in March 2009. Watching the indignity of this broke my heart. If he had the courage to hold his head up with pride and laugh during that painful humiliating process, I have the courage to grow a mo no matter how tragic, sleezy or porn starish it might happen to look. C'mon all my mates... PAY UP."

Well I’ve got there, survived an entire month without shaving the top lip.... Got through the scratchies, the itchies and the disbelieving stares... I’ve been called a Sleazy Mexican Delivery boy, Chopper Reid, Porn Star, or the Biker from the Village People... One kind person even said I was the spitting image of Graham Gooch the ex English Cricket Captain, which was nice because he is the only name I’ve been called that has a positive connotation. When I walk into a service station they assume I’m going to hold the place up, Small Children run away screaming and my dogs will have nothing to do with me... Don’t get me started on Helen’s reaction. I am somewhat amazed as the generous response from my family, Friends and work colleagues.. Incredibly over $13,000 has been donated to benefit Prostate Cancer Foundation and Beyond Blue an organisation that deals with depression.. As you all know my Dad died of Prostate Cancer, and I am truly aware of the devastating effect Depression can have on individuals, their families and the community as a whole. These issues are particularly relevant to men. I guess what I’m saying is thank you... thank you for your support of this fundraiser and support of this initiative.... Importantly guys, make sure your doctor keeps an eye on you for Prostate Cancer, and that you stay aware of the signs of depression both in yourself and in your mates, and don’t be afraid to offer a hand.. Thank You... Bryan

Bryan, Sorry to hear about your dad - he was a good bloke. Outstanding fund-raising mate. My small office has over $300 in pledges/donations and every little bit helps. Once puberty kicks in for me my mo should be visible. I reckon you're a dead-set ringer for former English cricket captain Graham Gooch. Regards, Doc

Hurray... The itchies have at last gone away.. Can you believe it I attend a 30th Annivarsary School reunion on the weekend and had to show off the new facial furniture. What a ribbing I copped. Anything for the cause... Anyway I had more hair on my face than most of the other guys had on their heads so it wasn't that bad... Singhy

10 out of 10 for effort Bryan. If the rough whiskas can raise a 10th of your effort to date we'll be estatic. Keep up the good work and for the record the mo's not that bad.

Day 15, Time for a Photo. Aren't I Gorgeous. A face only a mother could love. Chopper Reid meets Charles Bronson. Thank you to all that made generous donations to the Movember cause. I am reliably told by Helen That the Mo will not survive December 1.

My former boss from Prestige Bricks & Pavers Pty Ltd Warren Douglass passed away a couple of years ago from Prostate Cancer. To watch him go from a healthy man in his late 40's to dieing from this just shy of his 50th birthday was devastating. He showed great courage, his fight & determination to attempt to beat Prostate Cancer was second to none, however, sadly it got him in the end. Growing a mo is the least we can do to help raise money for such an important cause. Please give generously!!!

Congratulations on getting so much money in donations. My son Gavin from "The Knights who say Mo" is in the same situation as you but Graham died only 14th Oct.He just hasn't got the wealthy connections you have, but it is the total amount of money for the country that counts. Good Luck!!!!!!!
