Funded by Movember, and fronted by former Celebrity Treasure Island host Matt Chisholm, the series follows Matt on a rip-roaring and deeply personal journey into the hairy world of masculinity.

Man Enough is a two-part documentary series and builds on the success of the Movember-funded documentary series Man Up, which first aired in Australia in 2016. The team created Man Up to address the deeply concerning issue of thousands of men and boys taking their own lives each year.

An independent evaluation found Man Up and associated digital and social media campaign was effective in increasing mens’ likelihood of seeking help in tough times and encouraging their friends to do the same, in turn shifting their views on masculinity. New Zealanders are facing a similar challenge for men – on average they lose one man to suicide each day in New Zealand and yet Kiwi men are often taught to be tough as nails and fit in with traditional masculine norms.

Matt spends time with extraordinary people around the country doing brave and life-changing work and ultimately becomes a talisman for opening up and talking about our feelings. Immersing himself in different movements and worlds, Matt visits rugby clubs, construction sites, boardrooms, men’s barbershops, and boxing gyms to see how certain men are redefining what it means to be ‘man enough’.

Movember has seen the positive impact mass media intervention can make through Man Up in Australia, and as the world’s leading men’s health charity, Movember is proud to partner with Gibson Group and TVNZ to replicate this model and positive impact in New Zealand through Man Enough.

Man Enough episode two aires on the 27th of October. If you missed episode one, you can stream it on movember.com
