My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

The statistics show that men who work in the construction industry, particularly those employed on a fly in fly out basis have an incredibly high incidence of suicide.

We need to find ways where men can be comfortable and feel OK to reach out for help,

I’ll be growing a Mo as a sign of my support for this worthy cause and to show my project brethren that together we can overcome our struggles and live full and rewarding lives.

We made it!
$2000 Movember target achieved a day ahead of schedule.
Thanks to all those who made very generous contributions, and thanks to all those who provided moral support and encouragement.
But, most of all I’d like to thank Lily, the wonder dog, without whom none of this would have been possible.

"Hey Brett, Yogita here from Movember. Thought I’d drop by to say a big hairy thanks for flying the flag for men’s health this year.
You’re smashing your fundraising all in the name of a bloody important cause – to help men live happier, healthier and longer lives. Every dollar helps tackle mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. There’s still plenty of fun to be had this Hairy Season so keep it up legend.
United we Mo -Yogita from Mo HQ."

End of week 2 and fundraising progress is slightly ahead of plan with more than $1,100 raised! Thanks very much.

Well coming into the weekend and my sponsorship has crashed through the $1,000 barrier - thanks to all those who have contributed.
My mo sits alongside a (rather fetching - I think) grey goatee. Yes - the seafarer look - could become a long term fixture.
What do you think?

Week 1 progress pic is attached - in the right light, with your head tilted just at the right angle, you can see evidence of my labours. Stirring memories of Captain Grey Beard.
Still on the fundraising front I am very pleased to report much better progress - $980 raised in the first week - just under half way to my $2,000 target, so thanks very much to all those who have generously donated.
To those who have not (yet) - please get on board and show your support.

Well - the song "Cheap Wine & a Three Day Growth" comes to mind as I complete day 3 of Movember. A small stubble and more grey than I care for is emerging, but the good news is that $830 has been raised - over 40% of the way to my target already after only 3 days, so thanks to all my supporters.
For those yet to donate, - well there is still some time left ....but is there? That's the thing about men's mental health - you can never be too sure just how much time you've got.

Great progress on Day 2 -$760 raised, thanks to a few very generous donations.
The mo is coming right along - I'm encouraged by my efforts in previous years as shown in today's pic.

First day of Movember, and thanks to all those who have generously supported I have $520 already as part of my $2,000 fund raising goal.
The kick off of Movember coincided with Melbourne Cup Day - hence my wearing my "bag of fruit" - I think you'll all agree I don't scrub up too bad.
The unsuspecting punters did not appreciate the beginnings of my (soon to be) magnificent mo.

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
