December—Day Nine: The Whisper Beneath the Mo

Nine sunsets in the rear-view glow,
The past month’s moustached purpose starts to show.
Not just hair on lips or grin,
But stories etched upon the skin.
Each strand a pledge, a vow renewed,
To talk of things once misconstrued—
Of minds that ache, of hearts afraid,
Of scars that silence never made.
Through laughter shared and stubble grown,
Men find they are never quite alone.
For every Mo that braves the air,
Reminds the world—we truly care.
So here is to courage, quiet and deep,
To promises our spirits keep.
Movember has rolled on to December, but hope will stay,
In honest words we share each day.

8th December

The Mo’s been trimmed, the posters down,
But the cause still walks through every town.
Calendars flip and the weeks move on,
Yet too many brothers are already gone.
So on the eighth, when the month’s glow fades,
Hold space for the quiet, courageous brigades—
The dads and sons who booked that test,
The friend who said, “I’m not my best.”
For whiskers grow and whiskers fall,
But the talk we started must outlast it all.
Check your mate, your uncle, your own mind too,
Because Movember lives in the things we do.
So here is to the MO, the miles, the men,
To starting the chat again and again—
On this eighth day, make one vow clear:
Keep fighting for men’s health all year.

Eighteen Seasons of Giving

Eighteen Movembers have come and gone,
Each marked by faces, hope freshly drawn.
From cane fields to islands kissed by sea,
A brotherhood grew — bold, kind, and free.
Mackay stood first, with open hand,
Turning small acts to something grand.
A raffle, a ride, a friendly shave,
Each gesture a ripple, each dollar brave.
The Whitsundays shone their golden hue,
Where hearts beat steady, strong, and true.
Tradesmen, teachers, mates at the bar —
Each moustache told who we truly are.
Through laughter and tears, through loss and cheer,
You gave not just money, but meaning each year.
For men’s health, for fathers, for sons yet to be,
You built a bridge across land and sea.
Now eighteen years stand like waves in a row,
Each crest a story, each trough a glow.
And through it all, your kindness remains —
The pulse of these towns in generous veins.
So here is to the people who never say no,
Who light up Movember with courage and show
That giving, like living, is better when shared —
Mackay and Whitsundays — forever you cared.

7th day of December

On the seventh day of summer skies,
The razor hums, the Mo grows in shape and size,
Yet every quiet, fading hair
Still calls, “Check in, show up, be there.”
The tinsel’s up, the year-end rush,
But mates go missing in the hush;
So pause the scroll, and break the trend—
Send one small message to a friend.
Ask, “How’s your heart? How’s sleep? How’s you?”
Then wait, and listen all the way through;
For Movember’s work is never done,
While fathers, brothers, sons need one.
So on this seventh, make your stand:
A call, a walk, a helping hand;
Grow care, not hair, in word and deed—
That’s how Movember learns to lead.

“15 Seasons Strong — The MOV~ing Spirit”

From stubble to stories, from whispers to roars,
Fifteen campaigns have opened new doors.
The Mo Bros stood tall, moustaches in flight,
With one Mo Sista shining in champion’s light.
Together they grew more than lip-bound hair,
They grew hope and courage beyond compare.
Each dollar a promise, each smile a spark,
Lighting men’s wellness through mornings dark.
From Mackay’s greens to Movember’s stage,
They have turned concern into timeless courage.
Seventy-nine thousand, five hundred and more,
Raised not for glory—but care at the core.
Since twenty-eleven, unbeaten they reign,
Year after year, through grit and rain.
No trophy could measure the hearts they have inspired,
No scoreboard could capture how deeply they have wired.
So here is to the team—the legends, the crew,
Who remind the world what good men can do.
Fifteen seasons and still on the rise,
MOV~ing Mackay—where true spirit lies.
In 15 campaigns since 2011 we have raised an amazing one million and fifty thousand eight hundred plus($ 1,050,819.16 ) with the unrelenting support of the caring communities of Mackay and Whitsundays.

Sixth of December

The Mo has thickened, the calendars turn,
Yet the questions we asked still quietly burn.
December skies, a softer hue,
But mates still need a “How are you?
No fundraising page, no final score,
Just one more knock on a friend’s closed door.
A coffee, a walk, a message late—
These are the ways we guard a mate.
The tree lights glow, the year winds down,
Behind some smiles there is a slipping crown.
So lift the phone, not just the cheer,
Make “You ok?” your call this year.
For Movember’s not a month alone,
It is every day a different tone.
On the sixth of December, take this stand:
Grow open hearts, not just the ‘stache on a man.

5th of December 2025

Day five of December, the razors are still,
Yet the promise of Movember asks more than goodwill.
The MO’s may be fading from cheeks and from chin,
But the real work is booking check‑ups, checking in.
For every mate quiet, who jokes to hide fear,
Ask twice how he is travelling, then stay there to hear.
Grow courage, not whiskers; grow time, not just hair,
Because men’s health in December still needs that same care.

4th Day of December

Movember’s gone, but the mission stays—
On the fourth of December, we count brave ways:
A text to a friend, “Mate, how is your head?”
A walk in the sun, a good night’s bed.
We keep the MO in the mind, not just on the lip,
Check in, open up, loosen the grip.
Book that screening, lift what you can,
Rest when you need—stronger is the plan.
For fathers and brothers, for sons and mates,
We carry the torch past calendar dates.
Month turns the page, but the promise remains:
Grow care, grow courage—beyond the chains.

Third Day of December: Movember Spirit

On December’s third dawn, mirrors tell,
A modest MO that starts to swell.
Beyond the bristles—stories spark,
Of brothers’ courage through the dark.
Each whisker, bold, is hope newly sown,
A sign we are standing, never alone.
Grow on, for talk and tender care—
For men’s health, we are always there.

On the second dawn of December’s chill,
The MO’s grown strong, but the mission — stronger still.
From silent pain and hidden fears we rise,
Uniting moustache and voice beneath open skies.
Movember whispers — speak it out, stay true,
Each day: a step for fathers, sons, for you.
Past November’s closing, hope and care extend,
Charging forward, hearts and hands to mend.
Let courage grow where whiskers fade,
Every story shared, every promise made.
For men’s health, we stand — not just one day,
But together, nurturing strength, the Movember way.

As I say goodbye to the moustache for another year (it is December after all!), I just want to give a huge congratulations and thank you to the incredible Mo-ving Mackay Cricket Club team.

Raising over $75,000 this Movember is an unbelievable effort on its own — but passing $1,000,000 raised since the team began is simply extraordinary. What an impact you’ve made for men’s health, right here in our community and far beyond it.

Proud of the team, proud of the cause, and proud to have been a small part of it.

Bring on next year’s mo!

1 Week(s) Ago

1st of December Mo-poem to keep the spirit growing on.

Movember’s done, the razors cheer,
Yet quiet battles stay right here.
The Mo may fade, the cause does not,
Check your mates, ask “How’s your lot?”
First of December, summer light,
A brand-new month to hold men tight.
Send that text, return that call,
Small brave words can break a wall.
For every dad and silent friend,
For sons still learning how to mend,
For brothers fighting fear alone,
Grow care, not hair, in muscle and bone.
So as the tinsel starts to glow
And Christmas ads steal Movember’s show,
Keep one vow from your moustached days:
Change men’s lives in steady ways.
Today, day one, let’s set this tone:
No man left to face it alone.
Mo or no, through each December,
Hold the stories, help remember.

Day 30- The last Day of Movember 2025

Movember’s last sunrise hums low on the lip,
Thirty days of tickle, itch and quip.
Coffee cools while razors wait in rows,
Honour in the stubble, courage in the growth.
Today we count the brothers still in the fight,
The ones we lost quietly, alone in the night.
For every hidden grief behind a practiced grin,
This month we have worn a question mark on skin.
Each whisker was a whisper: “Mate, you alright?”
A tiny lighthouse on a tired face at night.
Convos in the lunchroom, check-ins in the car,
Reminding every bloke his storms do not make him scar.
So here is to the Mo’s—patchy, proud or thin,
To mates who turned up and chose to lean in.
We raised more than hairs; we raised our eyes to see
That strong means softer hearts and brave vulnerability.
On this 30th of Movember, before the razors sing,
Let gratitude and gentleness be the last things that cling.
Then carry this moustache spirit into every other day—
Ask, listen, hug your brothers, and help them find their way.

Day 29: Nearly There

Another dawn, another shave restrained,
A month of growth, both whiskers and will,
Each grey or golden curl maintained,
each silent vow held brave and still.
Conversations sparked from simple hair,
Stories told of courage and pain,
Of fathers, brothers, mates who care, and choose to stand, again, again.
The mirror shows more than your face—
It shows the fight you have carried through,
A grin that says, in quiet grace,
“Tomorrow, I will finish what I set to do.”
Though Movember nears its gentle close,
Its message lingers like the scent
of purpose, strong and deeply rose—
A month well worn, and truly spent.

The Four Weeks of Movember

Week One – The Spark

A clean face meets the mirror’s gleam,
The razor rests, replaced by dream.
A stubble sprouts—small sign, yet proud,
A pledge is made, both soft and loud.
Each whisker whispers: hope, begin,
For change takes shape upon the skin.
Week Two – The Growing Talk

The ‘mo’ takes form, a village grows,
Of mates and strangers, each one knows.
Conversations spark, sincere, unplanned,
Of fathers lost, of helping hands.
Between the laughs, the chin lifts high—
Courage grows where tears once lie.

Week Three – The Middle Grind

Some stray hairs mock, the mirror tests,
The mid-month doubt within one’s chest.
But purpose trims the weary face,
Reminding hearts why they embraced
This month of cause, this call to care—
To fight, to check, to simply share.

Week Four – The Reflection

The mo now full, the mission clear,
The end draws close, yet not the cheer.
For mateship lives beyond the shave,
In every story, strong or brave.
Movember ends, but not its call—
Grow for good, and stand for all.

63 Not Out

He walked to the crease with a smile so wide,
A young man’s dream, the nation’s pride.
Bat in hand, eyes set to roam,
On fields of green he called his home.
The crowd would hush, the willow sing,
A simple joy—that timeless thing.
Each stroke, each run, a story made,
Of grit and grace that will not fade.
Then silence fell, the world stood still,
A life cut short, yet living still.
For every pitch where children play,
His name is whispered by the day.
Not gone, but paused, in golden time,
His memory’s score forever prime.
For 63 not out he stays,
A song of heart through endless days.

Day 28: The Mo Still Stands

The month’s grown long, the mirror shows
A face that time and purpose knows.
Each hair a promise, each line a fight,
For men to speak, to seek the light.
The laughs were loud, the stories deep,
Of mates we have lost, and vows we keep.
From stubble’s start to Mo’s proud frame,
Each morning whispering one same name— Courage.
To listen more, to bare the pain,
To lift another through the rain.
A month of growth, yet more than hair,
It is care made visible, hope laid bare.
So here we stand, near journey’s end,
Movember’s call, our hearts to mend.
For every Mo still standing tall—
A sign of strength that saves us all.

Day 27 – The Home Stretch

The mirror holds a month’s story,
each whisker a quiet vow,
To speak for mates who stayed too silent, to stand together here and now.
The itch was loud in week two’s wind, the jokes came thick and free,
But every laugh lit up the cause—
to help men live, and be.
Now near the end, the MO feels strong, as roots of purpose grow,
We have walked through stats, through heart and mind,
To show what men can show.
For Movember is not just facial hair,
it is courage in disguise,
To talk, to check, to care, to share,
to fight, and then to rise.

MO 2025 Campaign- The 26th Day

The mirror greets a bristled face,
Each hair a tale, each mark a trace.
Not vanity, but purpose grown,
A silent pledge through skin and bone.
The mornings came, the razors stayed,
Conversations sparked, fears allayed.
From stubble roots to hearts that mend,
The month nears close, but not the end.
For Movember’s not just whiskers’ frame,
It is courage lit in men by name.
A brother’s nod, a friend’s concern,
The quiet chat where lives return.
So hold the line, we are nearly there,
The world’s still watching, still aware.
Grow strong, grow proud through each new day,
For change begins the Mo-men’s way.
