FAQ

Here you'll find some helpful tips and guidance on how to use our branding to best support us. Movember's branding consists of several globally registered trademarks including the word ‘Movember’. Our iconic Mo and Movember logos are protected, as is the imagery and artwork used on the Movember website.

Do:
  • Do use the downloadable artwork on our website to promote your participation in Movember. For instance, you can use the campaign logos in a Facebook post, but don't alter or manipulate the downloaded images.
  • Do give your event a distinctive name and state that it is in support of Movember. For instance, 'Community Ball supporting Movember'.
  • Do give your website, app or product a unique name.
  • Do mention and link to Movember and promote your involvement with our cause.
  • Do sign up at movember.com or via the Movember app and start a team for your company and your staff.

Don’t:
  • Don't sell items that display our branding (including the word MOVEMBER or our iconic Mo). This includes clothing, accessories, products or any merchandise created for sale, unless you have a written agreement with Movember.
  • Don't call your event an “Official” Movember event. This can confuse the community about who runs and is responsible for the event.
  • Don't use the word MOVEMBER, or anything confusingly similar, in the name of your website, social media account, business name, app or product.
  • Don't offer goods or services for sale on the basis that a percentage or amount per sale will be donated to Movember, unless you have a written agreement with Movember.

Cause-related marketing
Cause-related marketing is offering products for sale on the basis that a percentage or amount per sale will be donated to Movember.
You cannot engage in cause-related marketing without prior approval from our Partnerships team.

Insurance
Sometimes if you're running an event at a venue or public space, the venue owner or local council will ask you to provide proof of insurance. Movember's insurance policies only cover events run by Movember. We cannot extend our coverage for third party events, such as events run by our supporters.

Alcohol licensing
Sometimes, event suppliers will ask to use Movember's charitable registration number to receive an alcohol permit or license.
You cannot use Movember's charitable registration number to obtain an alcohol permit or license.

Other things you may need to arrange
  • All financial aspects of your fundraising event, including ensuring funds donated to Movember at the event, are remitted to Movember following the event.
  • Local council permits, activity permits for competitions, food handling permits, security services, health and safety/fire plans.
Tracked activities can take time to appear on your Mo Space. Give it a few moments to do its thing.
Still not syncing? If your fitness tracker isn’t syncing to your Mo Space, get in touch with your local Movember Team.

Note: activity type on device must match the challenge type selected on movember.com (e.g. if you selected Run, a logged walk won't sync).

Previously Movember’s annual campaign only provided binary gender options upon registering - male and female. We recognise the need to change this selection option to reflect everyone and be more inclusive. Movember should welcome everyone – regardless of gender identification – who wants to join us in the fight to improve men’s health. As part of the 2020 Movember Campaign, we’re including a third gender option, non-binary to acknowledge those who want to improve men’s health but had previously felt excluded or not appropriately recognised.

At Movember, we believe diversity, collaboration and inclusion drives not only innovation, but greater, more significant impact.

Our global advisory committees and men’s health partners provide insight and guidance on how and where Movember makes programmatic investments. This diverse group of experts are from a range of geographic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds which informs their perspectives, and Movember’s investments across our cause areas: mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

We are also working to decrease unconscious bias in our hiring process through clearly defined, objective criteria that’s reviewed before positions are posted so that we attract diverse and wide-ranging talent.

Recognising that diversity is not the same as inclusion, we continue to work on building a supportive organisational culture and encourage an open dialogue among staff to converse and share solutions. Movember is committed to improving diversity and inclusion in our team and establishing a sense of belonging for everyone. We understand there is more work to be done.

Movember has brand use and fundraising guidelines in place to protect contracts we have with our partners.
