Most of my days are spent in front of a computer — chasing deadlines, solving problems, and trying to keep everything moving. Somewhere in between, I forget to look up, stretch, or even breathe properly.
I realise that being “busy” doesn’t always mean being productive — and that sometimes, what I actually need is a *real* break. Not scrolling, not multitasking, but taking a short trip away, walking on the beach, sitting under the sun, or simply being still for a few minutes without a screen in sight. Even slowing down during meals instead of swallowing them down — that, too, is part of the pause we all need.
I’ve also learned that mental health isn’t just about feeling okay. It’s about noticing the signs — the restlessness, the late nights, the moments when your mind doesn’t switch off even after the laptop closes. I’ve been there. Many of us have.
So this November, I’m making a small commitment to myself: 10,000 steps every day. A reminder to slow down, move with intention, and create space to breathe again.
If my story resonates with you, I’d love for you to join me — walk, talk, or even just pause for a moment in your own way. That’s what Movember is all about — not perfection, but progress.
