My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

Raising awareness regarding men like myself, and how you choose to prioritise your own mental health can have everlasting impacts not just on yourself, but your family, friends and colleagues. It has only been in the past 18months I have appreciated looking after yourself first enables you to look after those who matter.

A few years ago I hit rock bottom, focus on work increased, I was asked to do more and I did. I was approaching burnout but didn’t realise. Everyone I loved and cared for became more distant as a result, I wasn’t sleeping, struggling to prioritise time with family, I was grumpy at home and eventually my marriage broke down after 22.5 years.

In 2022 my mental health took a massive hit, between work, my marriage breakdown and other issues, I continued to put on a brave face but my resilience was thinning, I was isolating myself, I was always anxious, I was falling into a state of depression. On ANZAC Day 2023 I hit rock bottom, I realised I needed to do something, as someone that has always been the help, it was difficult for me to ask for help, but I did, and it was the best thing I could have ever done. I am mentally stronger now than I have been in over a decade, but it has taken me 18 months to get to this point and I still have a long way to go.

My motivation is to help men know it was hard and it was scary to ask for help, but it is 100% worth it. I now talk to my ex wife as a coparent more than we did when we were married. My relationships with my children are stronger than ever, and after learning how to ask for help, my professional life has improved greatly also.

Well the Mo had to go today as Movember has officially closed. However, you can still donate just like another Legendary Supporter Fletch has this morning. Thanks Fletch, your support is greatly appreciated

As we hit Day 14, I would like to thank all who have supported this month of giving, to save our men. To all the MoBro’s and Sisters putting themselves out their to raise funding in support of men’s health and suicide prevention, thank you. To all of those who have given up some of their hard earned coin to assist financially, thank you. Every cent counts and every donation will bring us that little bit closer to saving another life.
Have an awesome week Legends
