Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

Good people... I need you help.

TL;DR – I am raising funds for mental health and suicide prevention programs through the Movember Foundation this month by abandoning my 'Shabby Hobo Chique' beard to grow a pretty confronting moustache. Please consider donating to support this cause…

Now the long version…
Tis' the season for growing facial fur for a good cause. #Movember is upon us. A month when follically-challenged blokes do their best to grow a Mo, Face Lace, Bristle Batons, a Lip Toupée, Lip Furniture, a Bro-merang, Upper Lipholstery, a... well you get the picture. But this is not vanity, oh no, no, no. This is important. Deathly so.
We do this to raise funds for the Movember Foundation, and the work that they do in changing the face of men’s health. They are funding innovative research addressing some of the biggest health issues faced by men: prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention.
My Mo-tivation for participating in the fellowship of the facial fur this year is personal – in the the last couple of years we have lost some in our social circle to depression and suicide. It is so easy to fall prey to stress, anxiety, and depression – far easier than most realise. A lot of people suffer through this or put on a brave face to try and push though.
Three quarters of suicides are men. Poor mental health leads to half a million men taking their own life every year. That’s one every minute. Addressing this is important, because one person gone before their time is one person too many.
If you feel that this is important to you too, I’d like your help. I’d like to raise $2000 bucks this year for Movember – but the more the better.
This year, it is time for me to make a fool out of myself to try to raise funds for the Movember Foundation. I love my beard, but for a cause like this, I am willing to part with it. Worse still, I am ok with looking like a complete idiot to get the message across and raise some cash for a worthy cause. I will be running conventionally this year, and growing a visually ‘confronting’, and hopefully donation provoking moustache.

So, here's the dealeo...
• If you kick in some cash, you will earn my eternal gratitude
• If you punt a pineapple or more ($50), I’ll be open to your suggestions for what Mo I show…
• If you chuck in a Mighty Monash ($100 – seriously check the guy on the note out… legend, and a fantastic Mo’ to boot) you get your pick of where I go with the mo during the month

But wait, there’s more…
For those in the know, I am not the most physically active person out there – but hey, physical activity is a great way to break out of the rut of past couple of years, so:
• If I raise more than $2000 bucks, you’ll see me line up for a half marathon in the next six months
• If the total is more than $5000 dollars, I’ll commit to a marathon in the next year
• In the highly unlikely situation that I raise more than $10k, sod it, I’ll pull out a half Ironman before Movember next year.

Point. Stare. Laugh. Run. Do whatever you want, but please donate. I’d be really appreciate any amount to support those who help highlight and address the challenge that is depression and suicide in men.

You get to see the ugliness - Movember gets the cash. Deal?
Your Mo-st Sincerely
Jon
