My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

It’s that time of year again where my social networking accounts gets briefly suspended for suspicious activity (any activity at all, that is) while I ask my friends and family for their hard earned cash to help bozo’s like me fight their mental health issues!

If you could consider donating some money towards the cause, suggesting a moustache to grow or just sharing the word that things are just hard sometimes and it’s okay to ask for help, then that would be just golly gosh great!

Mental health isn't something that can just fix its self, it takes time and professional help. As someone who has gone through it themselves, it's not easy to talk about either. While everyday should be look out for a mate day, I'll leave it to just Movember to bug them for money to help everyones mate.

I want people to know that they are not alone, and if growing a dodgy excuse for a moustahce can do that, then I'm on board.

So please, donate what you can, or spread awareness yourself.

One week into Movember and honestly it's been a tough one this year. I've had to remind myself to take some time for myself. So I am a bit sorry for not doing any updates until now - but also. not sorry.

This year, I've done away with my beard again, and am sporting the awkward moustache growth! As always mental health is my focus. As someone who's been lucky enough to come out from the other side of dark places in my own mind, I'm incredibly humbled by the amount we have been able to raise over the years! Almost 6 thousand dollars now.

Thank you so much, friends, family and colleagues for always supporting a cause so close to my heart.

Hey Everyone!

Almost 3 weeks in and we can all see the light at the end of the now rather hairy tunnel.

This Movember has been a tough one for me personally. I've gone through more stress than normal with work and family medical scares (Everyone is fine, don't panic). All of this has had me take a step back and think about life in general.

Some people are surprised to learn that I suffer from Anxiety and Depression. But it's played a pretty massive part in my life. At times it makes it difficult to reach out and tell people how I am really feeling, instead opting for a joke or a laugh to deflect. I'm lucky to have a solid group of Family and Friends around me that check in, and make me feel safe to share how I'm really feeling.

I hope those friends and family know how important that is to me. But more importantly I hope they feel equally as safe around me to discuss their problems.

This year more than ever, I've heard a lot of the usual talk about the moustache, but, also the struggles we are all facing at the moment. We have gone through a Pandemic, several wars, a scary political landscape and of course the increasingly difficult economic situation. It feels weird for me to be asking for donations, when at the same time, I'm filtering out goods by price.

That's why today, I wanted to share a video from World Mental Health Day. It's not officially that day today, but to me, every day is that day. As someone who has been in dark places before without a torch - I think it's important to shine the light on mental health issues.

Thank you all for your time reading! Say hi to a friend today!

-Martin

P.S. We are $60 away from having raised $5,000 total since 2018! So maybe I will need to shave my eyebrows, Dad!

Hello Everyone! It's me, Martin!

I've decided I'd take part in Movember again this year and raise donations towards mens health, but as always, mental health is my primary focus area.

Mental health is often something people either don't want to talk about, or feel like they can't talk about. That is something I'd like to change. I want to help start conversations making sure people feel okay, but hopefully also help to create a world where anyone, anywhere, can feel comfortable enough to say "I'm not doing okay, and I need help".

A lot has happened over the last few years. A lot more once in a life time events that many of us never expected to have to live through. That takes a toll on anyone. So I hope, at some stage this month, you'll be able to start a conversation with a mate, and just see how they are doing.

As always, I'm accepting donations on on Mospace, but they are never a requirement. Especially with how expensive everything is now-a days!! But if you can, please help me raise funds for mens health :)

... or you know, check out how I look without this amazing beard!

Moustaches have been shaved, leaderboards have been closed, and eternal glory has been achieved.

It is my great honour to announce the Top 5 from this year’s Mo University Challenge.

Collectively, this community of 1,353 Mo’s from 291 teams across Australia raised an incredible $285,386. Just unbelievable.

This is where change is being made. You are the people creating a better future for men’s health. So from the tips of our moustaches to the bottom of our hearts, thank you to each and every one of you for the wonderful impact you’ve made.

Keep on changing the world,
Josh from Team Movember

Some serious movement in the rankings, and even more serious funds raised, with the Mo Uni Challenge cracking $200,000 for 2023!

These funds go directly to lifesaving programs, helping men live healthier, longer lives. Every one of you has made that possible - thank you.

The leaderboards don't close until the 12th of December, so put in that final push and share those Mo Spaces far and wide! Could there be a late shift in the top 5?

Time to bring it home,
Josh from Team Movember

Uni Mo's of Australia, give yourselves a huge pat on the back and keep up the incredible work. A big couple of weeks of goodness on the way.

Inspired by you all,
Josh from Team Movember

It's Mo 22 - those Mo's will be feeling furrier, your legs fitter and your events ready to pop off! I'd love to see a couple of snaps of your Mo's posted on the Challenge page.

Boy it is close up the top of the University Challenge leader board - with QUT currently edging out the top fundraising university for the last three years UQ - with Monash following in a close third.

Regardless of the fundraising figures - keep parading that furry top lip, starting conversations and keeping your communities connected. Your are all doing such a fabulous job and all of us at Mo HQ are so grateful to be your Roadies.

Day 6! I call this moustache the 'I've just left high school and I'm seeing what my face can do before uni', it's something my parents will all too be familiar with. Turns out my moustache is a really good analogy for men's health... too much left on the side(lines)! let's bring it in!
