My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

Suicide has been a far too frequent punctuation mark through my life.

When I was young, one of my uncles took his own life. In high school, a fellow student's older brother ended his life. Early 2000s I came across a young man that had hung himself from a foot bridge above a road in my home town.

In the last 12 months alone, two of my friends have each lost a brother to suicide.

There's been other accidental deaths that were possibly linked to mental health issues: a few years back a friend aspirated on vomit from being too drunk and a few years before that another died from a drug overdose...

The commonality among all of these? They were all men. In the same period, to the best of my knowledge, none of my female friends have ended their own lives.

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. The Movember Foundation is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and I want to help them get there. Help me stop men dying too young.

I've enjoyed your social media posts on this subject, but the main game is raising the money. Thanks Andrew.

Ok folks, counting the votes got way too complicated, so I created a bracket, with pictures. Round 1 ends midday tomorrow and then it's 24 hours a round, vote for your favourites in each pairing. Those with the most votes advance to the next round.

So it begins...

After losing the horseshoe in an effort to look a little more professional at work, things are coming along nicely. Looks a little Bob's Burgers without glasses and a little hi diddly ho neighbourino with them.

First effort at shaping thing up. will probably get thinner and thinner as the month goes on.
