My motivation

We’d like to intro you to a concept rolling in this Movember. It's pretty simple. We are trying to catch 30 waves in 30 days, all in the face of mental health.

Like always, the Mo is King. But 2020 didn’t play by the rules, thus either are we. This year, Movember has new ways to fundraise and spread the word about men’s health. One is a new angle called; Mo Your Own Way.

Last year Greg Brown (@gashsurboards) gifted Movember a surfboard, with the instructions; Use it for the cause- and make sure it gets surfed. Right now, here in Victoria, we can’t all surf together, and that’s cool; we have this board from Greg and we can use it as a vehicle to bring us together and create conversations.

Our goal is for the board to be surfed by different people every day in Movember. All in the name of men’s health, from The Surf Coast of Victoria up to the Gold Coast of Queensland. Spreading the conversation through all communities as it travels the coast whilst we can’t. The message of the moustache, men’s health and surfing for mental health will spark conversation along the way.

Everyone who surfs the board will share their own story, using #30wavesin30days to give us insight and understanding about their own relationship with the ocean and mental health.

The catch? You don’t have to surf the board to comment or donate; that’s just a bonus ride. We are looking to help widen the conversation about mental health; whatever it takes. At the end of the month, one donor will be chosen and given the board to continue the message. You can get involved by doing the #30wavesin30days challenge too- You don't have to surf this particular board to join in, you can do it however you see fit- whether it be surfing, going for a jog, sculpting your Mo or just simply getting into work on time.

To share this message use the hashtag #30wavesin30days and tag @30wavesin30days

If you want to get involved by surfing this board somewhere up the east coast of Aus- hit @30wavesin30days via direct message on instagram

We’ll see you along the way!

All donations along the way are greatly appreciated. Donations go towards Movember and changing the face of Men’s Health.

Hey, 30 Waves In 30 Days team, we are excited to have all of you back aboard the Mo Train for another hairy season. Every dollar raised helps us make a difference in men’s health. This year I was proud to see us continue to fund our Waves of Wellness program that teaches people how to look after their mental health at the same time as learning how to surf! So, thanks for getting involved again and helping us change the face of men’s health. This is the most important year yet.

Great cause well done to all, what a beauty of a board too I saw it Day 1 at terrible Juc slicing around the lineup ! Keep having fun and ask your mates how they are going more often, with time to listen and help direct to professional help if required. Let’s beat the stigma on Men’s mental health and help each other out ! Keep it positive out there yewww!
