Saturday, Move with Me - Move for #Movember!

A gigantic shout-out to the 4 legged supporter and human companion. Such legends for answering the call for help, showing up today and joining me in keep moving (over 300km so far, and one more week to go for this #Movember) to raise awareness and funds for Men’s Health.

212 Week(s) Ago

Changing the Face of Men’s Health for future generations - Thanks for the Quality support from Family, Friends, Colleagues and everyone else around the globe involved in one way or another during this, my first, MOvember journey - 30Nov2020.

Moustache - day 30, last day ;)...

Yeah, still got time ;)

There is this place called Miyazaki in Southern Japan, it is a hidden gem. A good friend of mine is from there and happens to be a Master of Martial Arts.

She is such an inspiration and example, she actually is an amazing and unique female karateka who has travelled around the world sharing her passion and principles that could be applied to all the challenges we face in life - from self discipline to love of nature.

A few more days to go in this, my first MOvember challenge, and those principles have helped me a lot to continue raising funds, awareness and support for Men’s Health - Domo Arigatogozaimasu!!!.

When working FIFO in the Pilbara some years ago, a grasshopper once showed up at the rig while drilling diamond core. It was an unexpected visitor which was able to jump great distances for its relative size, that kind of amazed.

Sometimes humans can do things that are amazing - as all the support provided by diverse people for my first year of MOvember fundraising, thanks to everyone for unexpectedly making my day.

213 Week(s) Ago

Recently, I found a $1 (AUD).

It made me think about the value of money in fundraising. Therefore, I have decided to match it (meaning making it $2) and donating it to Men’s Health cause where it will multiple its value and will go into initiatives that have the objective to make a positive change were it matters the most.

Every little help and effort worth doing it - no matter how big or small.

To me, Rugby is one of those sports that has a place for everyone and everyone has a role to play. I wasn’t huge, I wasn’t fast, I wasn’t agile, but I was usually the last man standing and last hope. At my local Rugby Club, back in the Atacama Desert, I was The Fullback (no.15) and part of my role was to tackle everything. No matter what was coming my way - I had to stop it.

At either winning or loosing, we did it as a team and then, during the third time, share the same with the opponent team.

MOvember is like Rugby, and as a team we can make a positive change where it matters the most - let’s change the face of Men’s Heath.

214 Week(s) Ago

During one of my early walks at 6am for the MOvember challenge, I met a rowing coach along the Swan River/Perth, she told me that rowing was a great exercise, lots of fun and teamwork was involved.

That was the moment when I started to contact my mates and got the extra on-the-field support and inspiration for the most epic Marathon ever (42kms) it was plain and simple team effort, none of us did a Marathon before.

Thanks to teamwork we can achieve more by feeling safe, supported and inspired - Let’s change the face of Men’s Health.

Mission: Unexpected Marathon walk on 15Nov for a mate - to raise funds, awareness and support for Men’s Health.

Status: Mission accomplished (~42.5kms on 15Nov)

OMG - delicious food for champions the whole weekend. The master chef said it is a secret recipe, but I think she just put lots of love on it... yummy!!!

This is a whole new level of inspiration to keep doing even more kms and raising funds, awareness and support for Men’s Health...

There is something that, in my opinion, music does better than anything... Music, of any genre or style, somehow brings people together.

One of my best friends, from the other side of the world, delivered some extra inspiration for me this week.

While doing one of my morning walks, my friend and his @crossover_banda contacted me to live stream an special awesome concert, with the purpose of cheer me up on the walking challenge and support Men’s Health.

215 Week(s) Ago

I had a physiotherapist session today, learned the RPE concept and applied it to Donations.

I am donating time and effort’s to raise funds, awareness and support for Men’s Health - and since still had some energy left, I had to test the concept and managed to do an extra walk on top of my regular morning move - all for the cause, it felt so good.

Together can make a positive impact where it matters the most.

215 Week(s) Ago

The same as the weather “there is no such thing as bad Mental Health, only bad Stigma”.

Let’s change The Face of Men’s Health and we can make a positive impact where it matters the most.

215 Week(s) Ago

Struggling to decide whether to go out for the walk this morning, due to the severe storm in Perth (there was even some hails), I remembered a Scandinavian friend who once told me about bad whether in Sweden and their philosophy of “there is no such thing about bad weather, only bad clothes”.

I geared up with some rain clothes and completed my walk on deserted streets around the city and the river.

Later during the day, I contacted my Viking friend to thank him for sharing his culture and interesting concepts of his ancestors - sharing is caring, thanks for all the support.

215 Week(s) Ago

Because usually the smallest things can make the biggest difference, before going to bed tonight, try to put aside some time and write down three things you’ve appreciated from the day...

In my case: First Family, then Legs and then Time...

After one week into my first Movemeber ever, appreciation has allowed me to keep rising founds, awareness and support for Men’s Health...

When I was working FIFO in the Pilbara some years ago, in remote areas, wildlife interaction was a common thing.

One day, I had a close encounter with a magnificent bull. Due to my Latin background, dealing with the beast felt natural. Ignoring it or a sudden movement was not a good idea. Instead, I just faced the beast and let it circle me trough my right, I could sensed its fear and curiosity, it was mutual... then the beast just departed and I continued logging drill core.

Let’s learn how to face difficult conversations effectively - Stop men dying to young.

Change the face of Men’s Health - Like the way Nicky Winmar’s stand game and gesture against racism changed the Australian sport history. Personally, this statue of a courageous act has had a tremendous impact on me, I stop to admire it every time I pass trough this modern Perth’s Colosseum - as it stand proud and tall towards the sky in front of it. Have you seen it?...

216 Week(s) Ago

To change the face of Men’s Health - sometimes all that it takes is to listen without judging.

At the start of today’s walk selected a random playlist on repeat, just to give the algorithm a chance to surprise me, and the result was a very interesting musical roller coaster.

I didn’t skipped any song, I just listened without judging and it was in that moment, that somehow, I clearly understood that no matter the ups and down, just need to resist and keep going - nothing can hold me back now, as long as I keep listening and moving forward... looking forward to add more kms this November.

216 Week(s) Ago

Because every minute 1 man takes his life - and times really counts, so tonight getting everything ready for tomorrow’s walk for keep raising more funds, awareness and support for Men’s Health...

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
