My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

Only last week my friend who made my childhood the best you could imagine, left this world behind.
I have never understood why someone would take their own life, especially when they are so smart, healthy, and caring... Until this year...
This year, I felt like a failure, worthless, cheated and lost when my partner of 23 years told me they were in love with someone else and they were leaving. I can honestly say by then end of that week, my tormented mind went to some pretty dark places I never knew existed.
Thankfully, I was seeing a sports performance coach at the time, which helped me on the pickleball court, but also translated to help off the court. Best of all, my friends gathered round me and lifted me back up.
I look back on this year with a whole new learning. A whole new appreciation of what it means to be connected to a community and friends. A whole new appreciation for looking after your health and mental health.
Men my age shouldn't be dying full stop. And they should definitely not be taking their own lives, thinking that is the best option.
This is my Movember motivation - so whether you get behind my campaign, my team or Movember in general, just do it - it will save a man's life.
