My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Mental health and suicide prevention

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember I'm joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help me stop men dying too young.

I have the privilege of working with Indigenous youth from right across the Cape York, Torres Strait, East Arnhem and Groote Eylandt Archipelago. The majority of the youth that I work with are males or young men. The statistics surrounding suicide in Australia are alarming enough, for our First Nations people the statistics are even worse. Three times as many First Nations people under 18 years of age die by suicide as other young Australians, and 12 times as many First Nations children under 15. These rates are simply too high.

The collective emphasis of Movember on improving men's health specifically men's mental health I feel will surely impact these statistics in a positive manner. A healthier, connected and supported community of men across all minority groups of Australia will provide an environment for the next generation of young people to grow and thrive in. I understand this is a simplistic viewpoint but I honestly do believe it. Better men = Better people = Better outcomes for all.

I'm running 1000kms in June/July from my hometown of Port Douglas to the northernmost tip of Australia (Pajinka) in 22 days. I am doing this for the families of those impacted by suicide.
