Mental health and suicide prevention

Emergency services volunteers and staff are affected by trauma at a higher rate than the general public, due to the nature of their work. Promoting positive mental health and reducing the stigma associated with mental illness is essential, to ensure our colleagues are adequately supported.

As someone who has tried to ignore and then manage severe depression, anxiety and suicide ideation for over 5 years, I know the workplace and treatment challenges, stigma and lack of understanding and compassion that mental illness brings.

I'm raising funds and awareness for mental health and suicide prevention projects, to support our emergency services colleagues and the greater community.
