This year, I am proudly participating in Movember, a campaign dedicated to changing the face of men's health. My motivation is deeply personal and anchored in a cause that is often shrouded in silence: mental health among men.

In my years of service in the army, I stood shoulder to shoulder with friends who, after deployments, faced a battle much different than the ones we had been trained for. They struggled with mental health issues that are all too common yet rarely addressed with the seriousness they demand. This experience was eye-opening—it showed me that even the toughest among us are vulnerable, and that vulnerability is not a weakness, but a facet of our humanity.

Men are notoriously reluctant to speak about their health concerns, particularly mental health. Societal norms have long dictated a blueprint for masculinity that leaves little room for open and honest discussions about emotional well-being. This silence can be devastating, and unfortunately, I have witnessed its impact firsthand.

Movember is a beacon of change. It’s more than just growing a moustache; it’s a movement that challenges outdated stereotypes and encourages men to take action on their health. By participating, I am taking a stand against the stigma that keeps men suffering in silence. I'm doing this for my friends, for my brothers-in-arms, and for any man who has ever felt isolated in his struggles.
