We all struggle with mental health from time to time. Movember is supporting Men all over the world through their darkest days.

G’day, I’m Chris.

I started Project Resto in 2023 after a pretty tough year with my own mental health.

I've always loved gardening and am a bit of a self-confessed lawn nerd. One afternoon I happened to spot a pair of those iconic Scott Bonnar handle bars at a local garage sale. After a quick uey and a lovely chat with the residents, I learned that the mower had been owned by their father who had recently moved into aged care. They shared memories of their father who religiously mowed the lawn each week, rain hail or shine and after a promise to look after it like he had done since 1968, Project Resto was born!

The mower hadn’t been started in years, the reel had seen better days and the bars, well let's just say that they had plenty of character… I got it home, changed the spark-plug, added some fresh fuel and after a few pulls it fired up! A few months later and after many hours of blood, sweat and thankfully no tears, a bit of help from mates, my grandfather and dad, the first Project Resto was done!

Finishing the project was an achievement in itself but made all the more worth while by having the opportunity to connect with so many people that shared the same passion, and many of who had struggled with their own mental health over the years. They took on restoration projects to connect with mates who were going through a rough time and I knew that the next project had to support this cause!
