My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Prostate cancer
Men's health

This Movember I am challenging myself to a 32km hilly trail run in the snowy mountains (Kosci30). It will be the longest and hardest run I have ever done.

Why?
We are all impacted by men’s health. I am committed to help improve the lives of men and the people around them, their spouse/partners, family, community.

Working with people with prostate cancer for 20 years, I have seen the impact that this disease has on the men navigating it and their loved ones. 1.4 million men are diagnosed each year, a number that will double by 2040. For many, it changes what life means and how they function within it - physically, mentally and socially. And while survival rates are higher than many cancers, nearly 400,000 men die yearly across the globe from prostate cancer.

In my role at Movember as Global Director, Prostate Cancer I have the privilege of working with experts around the world who are dedicated to improving lives and catalysing change. Together, we are working hard to reduce the number of men dying from prostate cancer and improving the quality of life of those who are living with it. It's a big goal, but we are making progress and need all of your help to continue this mission.

We are taking action in many ways, including:

- research into how to prevent progression to lethal prostate cancer and stop men dying

- creation and testing of personalised active surveillance pathways, to ensure that low risk cancers are not over- or under- treated

- implementation of sexual health guidelines, workforce training, patient resources and support services so that sexual function and intimacy is supported and discussed

- supporting and testing patient-reported measures collection and implementation, to improve personalised care pathways

- using real world data to identify, report and benchmark variations in care and quality indicators, to support improvement of prostate cancer care delivery and individual and systems levels

- tackling inequities and disparities in underserved and underrepresented populations, to enable improved outcomes

- convening and connecting the best minds in the world to help solve for the big challenges in prostate cancer

To help raise money for this great cause, this year I am taking on the Kosci30, a 32km run in the snowy mountains, Australia. It will be the longest run I have ever done and will be a tough challenge - but nothing compared to what people with cancer are facing each day.

Every dollar counts! Thanks for your support.
