My motivation

I'm raising funds and awareness this Movember for all the dads, brothers, sons, and mates in our lives. I need your help. Please donate to support men's health.

I won't be starting from scratch, but if I get $250 I'll bleach the mo, $500 and I'll bleach the whole beard, $750 I'll bleach my hair and if I get to $1,000 I'll shave my head and/or beard.

EDIT: Before any more donations come through, I'm going to amend my final challenge to save my marriage. When I set these challenges at the start of the month, I never expected to even reach the first goal. Now I have hit my third milestone and am staring down the barrel of the final challenge and I'm afraid I'm going to have to blink. Now, I did leave myself an out by including "and/or", but I think just shaving the beard is a bit of a cop out. For my wife's sake, it's a cop out I'm going to take.

To make up for it, I'm going to sprinkle in a little further incentive. If I get to the $1,000 mark, I will delay in shaving off the beard until my work staff Xmas party (6 Dec). Why waste this hard won bleaching by not going to the Xmas party as Santa (photos to be circulated for those who can't attend).

I also want to share with you all a little about what this Movember has meant for me. A little over four years ago, I lost my brother to a stroke. He and I were always very close. One of the hardest parts about losing him was then welcoming my daughter into the world a month later, knowing what a great uncle he would have been, and not able to ask him for advice (he was survived by a wife and two daughters). Here I am meant to be filled with joy over becoming a father, and I'm still mourning the loss of a brother.

I still see my brother everywhere, in the mirror, in my daughter's face. I still feel his loss every day. Not long after losing him I was feeling particularly low and I reached out for help, but because the pandemic was still in full swing I couldn't get the help I was looking for (too many people wanting to talk about having to stay at home).

I still don't talk about him very much, as it is still very painful, but importantly I'm in a much better place to carry this. For all the guys out there carrying a similar load, I am glad that I have been a part of this Movember.

Steven,
Such a great effort. Somebody told me (Warren) that you're close to the $750 so I thought I would do my bit ....

Hey Steven, Kayt here from MoHQ. Great consistent fund-raising efforts. Thanks also for raising awareness on the importance of men's health and what we are doing together to improve it. A few more days to go and you'll be surprised what that one last push can do. Kudos

Moustaches have been shaved, leaderboards have been closed, and eternal glory has been achieved.

It is my great honour to announce the Top 5 from this year’s Mo Government & Council Challenge.

Collectively, this community of 1,376 Mo’s from 245 teams across Australia raised an incredible $434,129. Just unbelievable.

This is where change is being made. You are the people creating a better future for men’s health. So from the tips of our moustaches to the bottom of our hearts, thank you to each and every one of you for the wonderful impact you’ve made.

Keep on changing the world,
Josh from Team Movember

Some serious movement in the rankings, and even more serious funds raised, with the Government and Council Challenge cracking $200,000 for 2023!

These funds go directly to lifesaving programs, helping men live healthier, longer lives. Every one of you has made that possible - thank you.

The leaderboards don't close until the 12th of December, so time for a final push and share those Mo Spaces far and wide! Could there be a late shift in the top 5?

It's not over 'til it's Mo-ver,
Josh from Team Movember

Wow oh wow. Halfway through and we are blown away by your support.

After only 15 days, the Mo Government and Council Challenge is sitting just shy of $100,000 raised. This community is well and truly changing the face of men's health.

Give yourselves a huge pat on the back and keep up the incredible work. A big couple of weeks of goodness on the way.

Inspired by you all,
Josh from Team Movember

Government and Council Mo's of Australia, we are LIVE!!!

Just like that, Movember has begun. So shave down those upper lips, get those running shoes on, and start shouting about the amazing cause that is men's health.

We've got 425 of you incredible people signed up and you've already raised an incredible $13,500. And it's only the 1st of Movember?!

So share those Mo Spaces far and wide, keep encouraging your colleagues and community to sign up, and keep on changing the face of men's health. Thank you for everything you're doing.

It's Mo time,
Josh from Team Movember
