42 for the Boys – My Story

In 2012, I lost my dad to suicide. I was 13.

Nine years later, in 2021, I lost my oldest-brother the same way.

Two of the most important people in my life, gone. Not because they were weak — but because they didn’t feel like they could speak.

Since then, I’ve carried their loss every single day. Some days are okay. Some days aren't. But one thing has never changed — my wish that they could have stayed. That they could have found the help they needed.

So this year, I’m doing something I never thought I would: I’m running the Perth Marathon. 42.2 km.

I’ve signed up for the Perth Marathon to raise awareness and money for men’s mental health, because this can’t keep happening. Too many of us are suffering in silence. Too many families are being broken by something we can actually do something about.

This run is for my dad. For my brother. And for every man out there who thinks no one would understand what they’re going through.

If you’ve lost someone, know someone struggling, or just care — please donate. Every step I take is for them. Every dollar you give helps make sure more men get the support they need before it's too late.
