My motivation

I was just a 4-year-old when I lost my father in the 1980s. His passing was due to mental illness, a silent and misunderstood struggle that was not adequately recognised at the time. It left a lasting impact on my life, shaping my understanding of the importance of mental health support and awareness. I know firsthand the devastating effects that untreated mental health issues can have on individuals and families, and I believe that we must do everything we can to change that narrative.

Now, as a parent myself with a 4-year-old son, I can't help but reflect on the significance of this age. It's a poignant reminder of the time when I lost my own father. I am determined to make a difference, to ensure that my son, and countless others, grow up in a world where mental health is understood, recognised, and openly discussed.

This is why I have chosen to get involved with Movember. Movember's mission, to raise awareness for mental health, support those who are struggling, and drive meaningful change, aligns with my experiences and my vision for a better future. But I can't do this alone; I need your help.
