My motivation

Fundraising for cause areas including:

Testicular cancer

2017 I was diagnosed with testicular cancer a month after losing my mother in law to brain cancer.

It was the hardest time of my life mentally, I quit my job as I needed time to recover mentally and found myself spiralling into depression without talking to anyone at the same time trying to hold strong for my wife and daughter.

I just floated for two years working here and there and believing I would achieve no more.

In November 2019 I was lucky enough to gain employment with Australia Post in somerton at Melbourne North Parcel Delivery Centre.

I didn’t know at the time but this would change my life forever. The support encouragement and belief I was given by all the team was amazing and has made me into the positive person I am today.

I was always a positive person but being diagnosed took its toll on me mentally.
My new position and the belief and support from the team made me realise I still could achieve and be successful in life and that success and failures or shortcomings is measured differently by every individual.

I was able to thrive in my role and quickly was given the opportunity to advance my career, my management team showed faith in me and I’m forever grateful.

There is a positive even in the worst situation you just have to find it or have the support to help you find it so please support MOVEMBER and Mens mental health, be there for your team mates your friends and your family everyone needs some support sometimes even when everything looks ok from the outside.

Reminisce on the past do not regret it, it can’t be changed arm yourself with positivity to conquer your failings the next time they show up.

THE FUTURE IS AS BRIGHT AS YOU WANT IT TO BE!

Thanks to all the team at MNPDC and especially everyone who I have been lucky enough to work with on night shift.

This Sunday I will begin my MOU AROUND THE RIVER @10am starting at the yacht club and walking towards Afton st bridge then back towards maribyrnong Rd or the anglers over the bridge and back again I will walk this 3.6 km path non stop for as long as I can. I encourage everyone to come join me for a lap or 2 and to donate to a cause that rarely gets spoken about until November each year.
