My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

To start here are two statics to consider...

1). 8.6 Australians die every day by suicide and 75% of those who take their own life are male (ABS, 2022).

2). Overall, ex-serving ADF members are at a higher risk of suicide than other Australians, with males 24% more likely to die by suicide, and females 102% more likely (AIWH, 2022)

As a male and serving member I have personally experienced the loss of close mates and my soldiers to suicide. I have also heard countless stories over the years from friends and peers who have shared similar experiences of loss.
Considering the stats above, and that 1 in 2 Australians are impacted from suicide by the time they are 25, our collective experience is no surprise.

Regardless of the figures we should not accept this as the status quo. Suicide has a devastating affect on those closest as well as the wider community, an affect that can be prevented. Growing the Moe, raising awareness through conversation and donating funds will all contribute to the prevention of male and female suicide.

This year the goal is to hit $1500! for a bit of extra incentive (and because i'm taking some leave) if i can get above the mark I'll give my hair some colour, embrace the mullet or go the big shave. Those donating get the choice!
