For 21 years, Movember has been building a powerful men’s health movement that fundamentally transforms the way health services reach and support men, while addressing the root causes of poor health for men. With your help, we’ve invested millions of dollars into innovative research and world-class initiatives that help men live healthier, longer lives.

By continuing to improve men's health, we aim to create a brighter future for men, their families, and their communities. Here are the top 10 men’s health projects made possible this year, thanks to you – our amazing Movember community.

Movember invests $100m in the Movember Institute of Men's Health

This year, Movember launched The Movember Institute of Men's Health, a groundbreaking initiative that saves lives and advances men’s health. The Institute will bring together leading experts to accelerate research, deepen our understanding of men's health issues, and develop real-world improvements in men's health. FIND OUT MORE

The Real Face of Men’s Health report

For too long, men's health has been overlooked, under-reported, and misunderstood. The goal of our first-ever 'Real Face of Men's Health' report was to make that clear to the public and the policymakers. It highlighted the real health issues facing men today – including preventable causes of death, men's experiences within health systems, and the consequences of men’s poor health on others. Its recommendations showed men, families and communities all benefit from improved men’s health – and that addressing preventable health conditions would save society billions. FIND OUT MORE

Unlocking a new level of personalised prostate cancer care

Prostate cancer clinical trials and research studies often happen in isolation, meaning data is contained to the country of origin, never reaching its full potential. That's why we're partnering with the University of Adelaide to develop a world-class database. These willanalyse tissue samples from thousands of men across the globe and identify biomarkers. Those insights help researchers develop strategies for clinicians to make better decisions about prostate cancer care. FIND OUT MORE

Partnering with the AFL to improve mental fitness

Movember and the AFL have teamed up to deliver Movember Ahead of the Game to community football clubs across the country. Our goal is to build more mentally fit communities harnessing the power of sports. The program helps teenage athletes, parents, and coaches identify mental health challenges; giving them tools to take action and get support when needed. FIND OUT MORE

A breakthrough in first-line treatment for prostate cancer

Lu-PSMA is a groundbreaking treatment for men with advanced prostate cancer, which is extending lives and improving quality of life. Even better, a new Movember-funded study found this targeted therapy could also dramatically improve outcomes for patients in earlier stages of the disease, potentially playing a role in reducing the global burden of prostate cancer in the future. Improving the mental health of Indigenous men

This year, we pledged a whopping AUD $59.5m to Indigenous Social and Emotional Wellbeing Initiatives across Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the USA. The programs aim to combat alarming health inequalities faced by Indigenous men around the world, through holistic community-driven approaches. FIND OUT MORE

Supporting teenage boys to find social connection through online gaming

Movember supports The Cave on Twitch, which is a new way to support boys from 12-17 years old in navigating positive social connection through online gaming. The program is run by our mates at The Man Cave. It aims to reduce the stigma surrounding poor mental health, in an environment that is engaging, entertaining, and safe. Giving young men tools to support themselves and each other, during and beyond their time online. FIND OUT MORE

Testicular cancer trial edges closer to important findings

We’re proud to support the TIGER trial – a major international initiative involving research teams from the US, Europe and Australia. This trial seeks to better understand the biology and treatment options for men who have undergone chemotherapy for testicular cancer, but whose cancer has returned – a rare outcome of an already rare disease.

Last year, we celebrated a significant milestone: the recruitment of 420 men and boys from across the US, Europe and Australia. The trial is now in the “follow-up” phase, where we monitor how these guys fare with treatment over time. FIND OUT MORE

Supporting gamers to connect and support their mental health

Gamers vs. Depression is a Movember-funded project run by psychologists based in the UK and Australia. It uses online gaming as a vehicle for promoting mental health literacy and better social connections among adolescent males. The aim is to train Psychological First Aiders and embed them within esports teams to provide social/peer-support, so young men can openly discuss challenges in a safe and supportive manner. Advocating for better access to treatment for advanced prostate cancer

Movember is working alongside leading clinicians and organisations across Australia to improve access to Lu-PSMA – a prostate cancer treatment shown to extend lives and improve quality of life for men with advanced prostate cancer. Our hope? To see Lu-PSMA funded on Medicare for the men who need it most. READ MORE
