The Movember Hall of Fame 2021 Awards

Over the last few months, the Movember Hall of Fame has travelled across New Zealand to unite our latest inductee superstars from Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland.

To celebrate and recognise those members of the Movember community who each year go above and beyond for men's health, we invited our Platinum Club members (those who raised over $1000) to attend the Movember Hall of Fame events across the country. Each year we create some special awards for our most valuable lifetime fundraisers. Those who have raised $10,000 or above are awarded a framed Silver Vinyl Record, while those who have raised $20,000 or above over their lifetime receive the prestigious Gold Movember Record.

The event kicked off with some words from our guest speakers, who spoke about how Movember program supporters have helped champion some incredible fundraising and epic activities. One of these legends was Jordan Martin who is a firefighter for Fire and Emergency NZ in Wellington and challenged himself to walk up Wainuiomata hill every day for the month of Movember in full firefighting gear! The hill itself is roughly 6.5km of incline and decline, which by the end of the month meant that Jordan had ended up completing around 195km.

We also heard from Ben O’Carroll, a Canterbury Sheep Scanner who ran 111km from Cheviot Trust Hotel in North Canterbury to The Carlton pub in Christchurch totalling up to a 13-hour run. Up north in Auckland, we recognised Mo Sister Phoebe Helena who raised an incredible $13,495.00 last year by shaving her head. Phoebe had been through a tough time herself in 2020 and decided to pay it forward by supporting the men in her life.

This event not only allowed us to reward the Hall of Fame inductees but show our appreciation to all those who had gone above and beyond for Movember and the men's health programs we fund. As a result, 15 Mo Bros and Mo Sisters took their place in the illustrious Hall of Fame, where their names are forever imprinted in Movember NZ history. Amongst the 15, we also had six Gold level fundraisers. As our highest level Mo lifetime fundraisers, they are dedicated men's health enthusiasts who have committed to inspiring their community in the crusade to help men live happier, healthier, and longer lives.
