It’s Total Tools first year as a major partner of Movember – and already they’re pros at this fundraising-for-men’s-health business. To kick off the hairy season, it hosted the Stephen Crawford Golf Day, held in memory of the late-husband, top bloke and Total Tool’s Mildura merchandiser.
The event raised a whopping $40,040, growing the company’s all-time Movember fundraising total of over $1.5m. All of which was achieved through sales of Total Tools merch, supplier donations through sales of selected items, customer donations at checkout as well as local community fundraisers run by local franchisees.
More than golfing buddies
But Total Tools and Movember go a long way back, and far beyond the fairway. Over the last few years, taking part in Movember has helped shift attitudes around men’s health among Total Tool’s employees, customers and suppliers.
And it’s a cultural shift that can be seen and heard at stores and head office. With open conversations around health, prioritising and proactively addressing personal wellbeing and seeking support when needed now a standard amongst employees; who feel more engaged and motivated knowing the business has their backs.
One staff member is even making bold moves sure to get more people talking. For this Movember, Jessica Press from Total Tools Bathurst is putting her hair on the line. The catch? Donors and supporters have got to help her store crack their $10,000 fundraising target. So hit up Jess’ Mo Space now – the biggest single donor even gets to do the honours.
On to the next round
The company commitment to men’s health will only grow stronger. And if the vibe at the nineteenth hole of the Stephen Crawford Golf Day was anything to go by, the community around it are more than onboard.
