The Way Back Support Service
1 MIN READ

The Movember Foundation has funded $2.35 million towards The Way Back Support Service. The service aims to prevent repeat suicide attempts and suicide deaths and is implemented by our friends at beyondblue here in Australia. The Way Back Support Service aims to reduce the likelihood of suicide, or a further attempt, for people who have made a previous suicide attempt. The service has been piloted in the Northern Territory since 2014, with a second trial in New South Wales commencing soon.

After the initial investment of funds by the Movember Foundation in the NSW trial, beyondblue has contributed funding to enable additional services and an even greater benefit for those who have attempted suicide and their families and friends. It is hoped that the project can be replicated in other locations if it proves successful.

The Way Back Support Service is part of the Men’s Suicide Prevention Program, which features a range of projects aimed at reducing the impact of suicide among Australians and their friends and families. The Way Back Resources are also available to download here.
