End of Movember: What Happens Next?
2 MIN READ

For 30 hairy days, we join forces to take action for men’s health. By growing moustaches, getting active, forming teams, competing, fundraising and talking about men’s health, we become a worldwide movement.

So what happens when those 30 days are done?

The month of Movember may be over, but the work continues. We accept donations year-round, raise awareness of men’s health issues, and work hard to ensure that funds are distributed to have the greatest impact on our men’s health focus areas. These focus areas are prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity

Our financial year closes on April 30th. That’s when we know exactly how much was raised in the previous year. In May our auditors (PricewaterhouseCoopers) ensure that our accounts are in order.

Once the audit is completed we are able to allocate funds to men’s health programs. A lot of time and energy goes into ensuring that every dollar raised by the Mo community is put to good use. By funding strategically in ground-breaking research and innovative programs we ensure that our investments have a significant long-term, global impact. This work continues year-round.

To keep you in the loop we publish an annual report each year, detailing the previous year’s campaign, financials, and men’s health outcomes. The 2015 annual report will be available before Movember 2016. We also publish reports on every program we fund

What’s next for the Mo community?

Movember is an intense month. We ask a lot of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas, so now’s a good time to give yourself a pat on the back and take a breather. But if you’re keen to keep the Mo-mentum going, there’s always the option to organise your own event to raise funds. Maybe an epic MOVE, an extreme adventure, or a good old-fashioned party? Get in touch with us at info@movember.com if you’re thinking of fundraising for the Movember Foundation anytime throughout the year.

If you’d like to stay in touch, sign in and go to your Correspondence preferences to make sure you’re signed up for our email updates. We’ll let you know what we’re up to and how your funds have made a difference.

We’ll see you next year. Mo on!
