On Sunday 30th October, the WORLD’S LARGEST moustache sculpture was created on Bondi Beach to kick of Moustache Season 2011.

Commenced before sunrise, the mammoth task was undertaken by a team of world-class sculptors, Mo Bro and Mo Sista volunteers from Ernst & Young and the Mo HQ team who used special spades donated by Home Timber and Hardware to move and sculpt more than 270 tonnes of sand. That’s equivalent to 4,762,800 cans of moustache wax, 2,872 moustache clad Bondi Surf Life Savers or 225 walruses!

Movember ambassadors including actor Damian Walshe-Howling, model and TV presenter Kate Peck and the local Bondi Rescue boys, lent a hand to create the 25 meter long sculpture that is the world’s largest recorded moustache sculpture. “I’m not personally aware of a larger moustache sculpture anywhere in the world” said Chris Sheedy of Guinness World Records.

Taking over eight hours to complete, the World Record monster moustache attracted much curious attention at Australia’s most iconic beach.
