Our Motivation

Starting 4pm this Thursday 27th November, the Xavier Boarding House is running for 24 hours around the prestigious Roche Oval, raising funds and awareness this Movember for all the dads, brothers, sons and mates in our lives. We need your help. Please donate to support men's health. Your donations will help keep us running!

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health, and this Movember we're joining them. Together we can make a difference for men's health – in prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. Help us stop men dying too young.

This cause holds particular significance for the Smith family, following the loss of Amy’s father after a long fight with prostate cancer.

Globally, the rate of suicide is alarmingly high, particularly in men. Too many men are ‘toughing it out’, keeping their feelings to themselves and struggling in silence. We live and work amongst a community of young men who are vulnerable to many complex mental health challenges. We want to see them thrive into the future, knowing that the best support and expertise is available to them if and when they are struggling.

Movember is aiming to reduce the rate of male suicide by 25% by 2030, and we want to help them get there.
