My second “Peak a week” was Wild
Horse Mountain- we’ve all passed the sign on the way up to the Sunshine Coast but who actually stops to do it???? Well- now US! It’s a paved walk all the way to the top and took about 30 minutes up with a VERY reluctant toddler. The gradient was quite steep at times but it’s a wide vehicle track all the way up. This is the smallest of the Glasshouse Mountains at only 123m. Worth a quick dash up to the top to quickly get your heart rate up. Photo of one of my men at the top (smiling because this is our second time we have climbed it and this time the mosquitos weren’t as bad).

The first summit I reached for my “Peak a Week” was Mount Ngungun. I was a bit nervous because it’s a Grade 4 track and I haven’t done any hiking for AGES but was pleasantly surprised - we easily
reached the summit and were back down in 1.5 hours. Mount Ngungun is the 6th tallest of the Glass House Mountains at 253m and is a BEAUTIFUL climb. Super recommend! I’m actually a little nervous I climbed the best peak early on… the views were amazing!
