$50

Target: $2,000
raised $5,660 since 2023
My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Men's health
Prostate cancer
Testicular cancer
Mental health and suicide prevention

My weightlifting goal for MO25 has begun! This month, I have swapped my running shoes for kettlebells, pumping thousands of kgs daily to hit this target:
Kettlebell Swings: 100 reps of 48kg (up from 24kg)
Turkish Get-Ups: 10 single reps of 32kg (up from 16kg)
Goblet Squats: 10 reps of 40kg (up from 16kg)
Since 2023, the MOVEment has been important part of my life - making a change for men's with cancer and mental health. In years past, I moved 155km, to fundraise for research and resources, MOtivated by the generous support of: mates, family, businesses and strangers! So, if you can kindly spare a cuppa, with your support we could even hit $5,000! Thank you so much for reading and I hope my words have made a difference.

Dear friends, family, kind strangers, businesses and anonymous rockstars,

I hope this finds you doing well!
On the first of Movember, I began a journey: moving 80km (in 2023 I aimed 60km and moved 70km) to raise money for the biggest charity for men's health by walking, running and swimming in 30 days.
I wanted to do my best to serve the community of brothers, fathers, sons and mates we have. Prostate cancer being the most common type in Australia (only after melanoma), testicular cancer being the second most common type in young men and mental health issues which crush those in the dark void of fear, stigma and "not being strong enough".
I can't even stress how much the support I had was, with the amazing people like you chipping in to donate. Whether it was skipping a cuppa, digging between the cushions or even just spreading the word, you all found amazing ways to support the cause. The donations you gave were so generous, with messages so kind. It's so lovely to see how many of you returned this year to give, and how many new people joined in.
The perfect word to describe you all? INSPIRATIONAL.
With your INSPIRATION, on 28/Movember, viewing a beautiful sunset in the park, in my Optimus Prime helmet for all to see (as part of a dare, since we had passed $1000), I ran around the park, and then 80km was achieved! By the 30th, another 5.5km had been added to the mix with another several hundred dollars of donations from YOU! We got to $1400, an amazing number.
My deepest gratitude goes out to all of you, from the bottom of my heart.
I hope we can continue to spread the knowledge about men's health, looking out for those we love and learning a bit more on the way.
I'll sign out, with the same important note as last year, that a simple "are you okay?" can make all the difference & save a life.

Warm regards and God Bless you all,
Gabriel

Gabriel, you have inspired us all! Well done on the 85km! We hope you encourage other young people to do the same.
Friends, family, students, kind strangers and anonymous rock stars, thank you so much for supporting our son! Even though he can't grow a mo (yet), he did the best he could with his "stubble" :-P
God bless you all! Mum & Dad, 30/Movember/2024

Dear Jaxon, Anthony family, Mr. Brannigan, Lun family, Mr. Munro, Aunty Shannon, Mr. Smith, Cugley family, McDonnell family, Holly, Hunter, Pringles, Elizabeth, Noah, the anonymous supporters and (last but definitely not least) Mum & Dad,
Thank you so much for your donations this month! People like you are so inspiring, I have the last 20km left to go to complete the 80km left in this final week.
God bless you all!

Thank you, Mr. Lewis, all my friends and Total Tools for your donations! It will go a long way in helping those who truly need it. You really inspire me (to complete 20/80km tomorrow, the end of the first week this month)! God Bless you all!

Moving 80km this 2024! We'll go higher than 2023!

We are so impressed with your hard work & achievement!
Well done for going over 60km Gabriel!
Thank you for teaching and inspiring us all!
----> Also, A Heartfelt THANK YOU To Everyone Who Contributed & Helped Our Son to Achieve Such a Feat!
God Bless You All,
Much Love, from Gabriel's Mum & Dad :-) :-)

I just completed 70km!
I promised myself that if you all went beyond to help the men who need it, I will too!
So I did! For the last couple of hours, I was doing gardening on a big property.
Mum suggested I rake a pile, then do a lap around.
All in all, I did 90 minutes of running! My legs feel like human spaghetti, but worth it!
Thank you so much everyone!

Dear Everyone, I hope this post finds you well.

4 weeks ago, I started a mission: to cover 60km through various activities such as walking, running, swimming, or cycling in one month. To fundraise for the men facing silent battles—the 60 men who succumb to suicide every hour, those grappling with prostate & testicular cancer, & those dealing with mental health issues in the void of stigma & fear. Men like our fathers, sons, brothers & best mates. So, I set a fundraising goal of $2000, unsure if it was attainable.

Over the last 4 weeks, I found many ways to achieve 60km, from running & walking with my favourite dog along the beach, to swimming & cycling with friends. A third of the way in, I invited friends, family, & even those I hadn't seen in ages to donate. The response was overwhelming, & I was deeply moved to witness the genuine care from dozens of individuals. The movement blossomed organically. You created a ripple effect that reached kindhearted strangers, & even anonymous heroes! And then…

On the 26th of Movember, we surpassed half of the fundraising goal in 24 hours! The next day, as the 4th week drew to a close, we not only met but exceeded the $2000 target! And last night, I fulfilled my commitment, embarking on a walk followed by a good run basking in the glow of the sunset—officially completing 60km. However, rather than the end, this marks a new beginning. A new dawn has emerged, & the fight for the wellbeing of the men in our lives continues. I am committed to push my kms further, & the opportunity to donate and share my Movember fundraiser will remain open.

To you all who played a part in this journey, whether through contributions, reposting, or simply through sharing encouraging words, I express my deepest gratitude.
May we all remember the importance to look out for ourselves & others.
A simple "Are you okay?" can make all the difference & save a life.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Warm regards & God Bless you all,

Gabriel
