Target: $2,000
raised $661 since 2024
My motivation
Fundraising for cause areas including:
Mental health and suicide prevention

Help me stop men dying too young.

My focus is on mens health, having suffered for decades with PTSD from my paramilitary/counterinsurgency years in the South African Police Force in the late 80’s - the height of the country’s years of civil unrest.

“Every dawn is the mark of a new day, a day to live life, to be the best you can be.. embrace it, live it as though it’s your last”

I rise early to ride my bike and start my new day witnessing daybreak, to take hold of the days challenges.

It's my way of giving back and to pay tribute to those who walked the darkest days of my journey with me over the years.

Help me help others, I will ride the 2000km and you can donate towards my $2000 target

How I'm
getting involved
CyberCX Mo's
$0 Team funds raised
0 of 2000 kilometres
cycling
I want to raise $1 for every kilometre I ride this month, which will average out to 100km for every working day for the entire month. I will ask for donations per km with a “buy out” offer once a week

A massive THANK YOU to all of my donors, super proud to have raised $461 towards such an important and worthy cause. My challenge campaign cut short with torrential rain on the weekend making for unsafe riding conditions, but in the end I covered 1755km in a total of 60 hours over the month of November, climbing 8 279 vertical metres. Longest ride was 203km.

1750km down... 250km to go! The plan is to roll out to Bribie Island and back from Mango Hill on the Northside of Brisbane tomorrow, and mop up the shortfall early Sunday morning... to reach my 2000km target! Almost 60 hours on the bike for the month, and climbed roughly 30% higher than Everest... at about 30kph on average.

Added some mileage to the usual run on the weekends to get back on top of what needed to be 1600km completed at this stage of the challenge, pleased to say that with 120km and 136km ridden over the last two days with 120km on Friday has me a smidge over target to date with today being the 17th working day... rest day today, I found my limit with poor rehydration and nutrition reload after Saturdays ride, and with 6000 calories burned yesterday, sleep and food are the only activities outside of work today! The Pumicestone passage at the Northern end of Bribie very rewarding of an early start...

This week is a little more challenging with the weather not that much fun to ride in! A day or two of wet roads is ok, but after those new potholes form just waiting for a front wheel, cars get more and more impatient with slower traffic and the novelty of cooler temps wears off! Nonetheless, still great to be outdoors and see views like this - Moody Moreton Bay
