A day late and a dollar short... Well, the "day late" is true, as I got caught up with work yesterday so am only getting out the Movember-end email today.

But the "dollar short" is in no way true! Over $4k raised - THANK YOU!!! We got passed last year's total - what a great effort! Even with a subpar 'stache, if I am honest about it...

After I trimmed the mo last week - and watching it almost disappear - I vowed to let it go until the end. As you can see, the results weren't exactly what I hoped for...

I do feel a bit disappointed this year, so have committed to going big next year! Mardi, are you ready for that???

Thanks to all for a great Movember 2023! I greatly appreciate your support, and love getting the comments from family and friends each week!

-------------------
Note to self - when doing a pencil-thin mustache, move it ABOVE the upper lip a little more... Yes, there really is a mo there - just a little thin where it is. I have trimmed it a couple of times, cuz it still itches where it is, but this certainly isn't one of my more impressive mo's this year. Maybe I need to keep it and grow it out further?!? Wonder what Mardi would have to say about that? Better not ask...

We are nearing the end of the month, and a big THANK YOU again to all who have contributed so far! We are closing in on my target of $4500 - less than $1K away.. If you haven't contributed yet, I hope you will consider it soon!

There's only one picture left this year...
---------------------------------

Well, last week got away from me - I completely forgot to send out the Week 2 update! I know, I know - everyone missed the picture. Well, the Week 3 picture is now posted. These pencil-thin mustaches certainly take some time to mature. Or it is the grey hairs...

Either way, we are 2/3 of the way through Movember. And I am 2/3 of the way to my goal - over $3k raised already! So another big THANK YOU!!! to all of those who have contributed so far! I greatly appreciate it - for this year, all years previous, and all years yet to come! (Mardi may not like that "all years yet to come" reference...)

Until next week - mo' then!

-------------------
One week in, and already over $1650 raised. I so appreciate the generosity and support from my family and friends!

For those that have already given - THANK YOU!!! For those that have yet to, I hope you will - either through me or someone else that is growing a mo.

As you can see in the Week 1 picture, the mo is coming along slowly but surely. More of a semi-hairy caterpillar at this point, but starting to take shape! I am sure it will be a keeper by the end of the month...
-------------------
To paraphrase my old friend Bundy, I've got three words for you -
MO! VEM!! BER!!!

After the scariest day of the year, we are now into the hairiest month of the year! For the sixth consecutive year - bring it ON!!

As you probably recall, I do Movember for my dad, who fought prostate cancer for four years. So fighting cancer remains the priority in my mind. However, Movember is also instrumental in funding many trials and programs to promote men's mental health. I had never really focused on Movember's efforts in this vein. However, I was invited (mostly because all the donations I have gotten - so basically because of YOU!) to a Movember kick-off event in early October. I had never really attended a Movember event before. It was remarkable how much of the emphasis was on Movember's mental health efforts, and had me reflecting on how important family and friends can be when one is going through a challenging period.

So the offer stands - please, please, please call me if you need to talk! Just let me know - doesn't matter if I am on the other side of Elwood or halfway around the world. I can and will make the time for you!

Ok - on to Movember. In honor of the late, great(est) Jimmy Buffett, there is no other choice for the mo this year than a pencil-thin mustache...

I am doing Movember because of my dad and his fight against prostate cancer. But this isn’t just about prostate cancer, it’s about the fight against all cancers! A cure for one, I believe will turn into a cure for all in short order. Please support my #Movember efforts, and let's work toward getting rid of cancer altogether! Please donate - doesn't have to be much - for all the dads/moms, brothers/sisters, sons/daughters, family, friends, and mates in your life.

John! What an epic Mo Bro you are. You're killing your 2022 campaign so far and we can't wait to see where you end up. Bob would be proud of you and we are so sorry to hear he lost his battle this year. We love the Mo, we love the updates and more than anything, we love the bond you continue to hold with your dad by doing Movember. Mo on my friend, Roberta at Mo HQ
