The beyondblue Support Service seeks to reduce the impact of depression and anxiety in the Australian community through the provision of information, referral and immediate, short term, solutions focused counselling by trained mental health professionals. All men in Australia may benefit from the support delivered through the beyondblue Support Service.
To establish Centres of Excellence where scientists and clinicians with different areas of expertise can collaborate to address the big questions in prostate cancer research. Long term and large scale support will ensure that these centres are well placed to deliver breakthrough discoveries and to provide a world-class training ground for the scientists of the future.
The goal of the Targeted Research Grants is to address a specific and pressing concern in prostate cancer research. Each program has focused on one field of study with the aim of validating the research and translating findings into policy or practice in the short term.
To reduce the impact of the long term treatment consequences on men with prostate cancer by providing care, advice, support and education related to treatment side effects. The programme seeks to improve the long term quality of life for men with prostate cancer and partners focussing on practical and psycho-social supports which will make a positive difference in their day to day lives.
To improve the outcomes for men treated in the curative setting - including research that helps men to select the most appropriate treatment for them, research aims to increase the effectiveness of initial treatment in terms of cancer control, or research focuses on reducing side effects from initial treatment but without reducing cancer control.
