This June, we’re partnering with The Push-Up Challenge to deliver an epic mental health event and straight-up save lives.

Together, we can push for better mental health by leaning in to the benefits of exercise for our own mental wellbeing, while having fun and starting important conversations about mental health.

While you may know us for the moustache and fundraising during the hairy month of Movember, changing the face of men’s health is a full-time job. For this exact reason, we’ve partnered with some absolute legends to help us take on the men’s mental health crisis in a big way.

Between the 1st and the 24th of June, join an epic community of Push-up Mo Bros and Mo Sisters pushing to complete 3,139 push-ups. This target signifies the number of Australians who died by suicide in 2020. Unfortunately, in Australia 3 out of 4 suicides are by men. So, together with The Push-Up Challenge crew, we’re on a mission to raise awareness and funds and push for better to stop men from dying too young.

What if I can’t do all those push-ups?

Never fear, everyone taking part can choose their own level of involvement to match their ability, ranging from 25% to 100%, with the full amount averaging out at 149 per day.

Along with this, if push-ups aren’t for you, we recommend you get creative with it. You can do the push-ups on your knees, against a wall, or replace them with any other exercise you can think of. There are also three rest days to give those arms a break.

To encourage and motivate you along the way, you will receive a daily mental health statistic that relates to your target number. So, while you’re sweating to reach your daily goal, you understand the information it represents, ending each day stronger, and mental-health smarter.

How do you join the challenge?

Step one:

Head to The Push-Up Challenge registration page and select Movember as your charity of choice. Here you can sign-up for the following options:

  • Make a community - recommended for larger organisations and groups with 10 or more people participating. Once created, you can share the link around to your network and multiple teams can be built within that space
  • Make one team - for less than 10 people
  • Join an existing team
  • Participate as an individual

Step two:

Rally your mates to donate to your page and join you this June. As always, supporting a great cause is even better when you’re doing it with your mates, so pop a message into the friend or family group chat and get the whole crew involved.

Step three:

Get ready for an experience that will do all kinds of good.

Addressing mental health has never been so important. By participating in The Push-Up Challenge and fundraising for Movember, you are helping us deliver life-saving mental health and suicide prevention tools and programs to stop men from dying too young.

Let’s get physically and mentally fit this June and push for better mental health. Are you with us?
