Our Motivation

Shoulder to Shoulder for Our Emergency Responders:

Firefighting has officially been declared a cancer-causing profession by the World Health Organization — meaning every callout, every blaze, comes with invisible risks. Studies by Monash University found that Australian firefighters face significantly higher rates of prostate, skin, and kidney cancers than the general population due to repeated toxic chemical exposure.

But the danger doesn’t stop when the flames go out. Across Australia, 1 in 10 emergency responders — firefighters, paramedics, and police — will experience post‑traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) linked to traumatic events on the job. These men and women are twice as likely to face mental health challenges as the general public, with few truly understanding the burden they carry.

Movember is stepping up — funding mental health programs built for emergency responders, by emergency responders, and helping countless heroes find the support they deserve.

This Movember, members from Langwarrin Fire Brigade will grow a Mo to raise money, and stand shoulder to shoulder with the people who protect us. Together, we can tackle cancer, break the silence, and build a healthier future for all emergency responders.

I moustache ask you a question do you want to support a good cause?

For the 30 days of Movember I've committed to changing the face of men's health, I'm asking you to support my efforts by making a donation at http://mobro.co/fletchba.

We need to take action as the current state of men's health is unacceptable:

• Men die on average almost 5 years earlier than women - there's no biological reason
• Each year around 20,000 Aussie men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer
• Testicular cancer is the second most common cancer, behind skin cancers, in men aged 18-39 years
• Tragically suicide is the leading cause of death for Aussie men aged 15-44 years

The Movember Foundation is working around the clock and around the world to improve the lives of men and their families affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems. They can't do this without our support, so please support my efforts to make a difference.

There's a lot riding on my efforts this Movember and I'd really appreciate your support.

Together, we can have an everlasting impact on the face of men's health.
And remember that no donation is too small or too big!
(If 100 people donate $5 that equals $500 towards a great cause)

I know Christmas is fast approaching and money is tight but PLEASE donate even the smallest amount to this great cause that targets mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer. Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health and you can make a differance. Spread the word!

Note: As donations can be made privately, not all donations are displayed to the public.
