Our Motivation

To raise money this Movember, the team at Remedy will be shaving down and growing mo's, flaunting virtual mo's on every Zoom call, running 60kms(+) during the month and mo-ing their own way!

At Remedy, we know looking after our mental health is more important than ever. Despite this not being a topic many of us are open to talking about, mental illness in Australia is very prevalent - with one in seven Australian men experiencing depression or anxiety or both in any year.

Struggles with mental health have only been exacerbated since the outbreak of COVID-19, where 25% of men globally reported their mental health had worsened during the pandemic. Yet, only 16% had spoken to a Health Care Provider about their mental health.
Unfortunately, in Australia, men account for three out of every four suicides, and over six men die by suicide every day- it is the leading cause of premature death for men. Men who died by suicide had a median age at death of 44, which we can all agree is far too young.

We know it can be hard to take that first step to admit you're not OK, but it's crucial to gaining the wealth of support friends, families, and experts can provide. We want to help make that first step easier by encouraging everyone to go beyond the banter and open up with a Remedy this Movember and start a meaningful conversation with their best mate, family, or colleague.

The team at Movember are looking out for people and creating real, lasting change within our communities, and by partnering with them and raising money as Team Re-MO-dy; we believe we can help change the face of men's health.

I have had men in my life suffer with their mental and physical health and would like to support them by donating and raising awareness. Well done to the Remedy team for supporting a great cause.
